At McCalls we have one of the largest ranges of Jacket
options in Highland Dress for Hire and for Sale anywhere in Scotland.
For Eveningwear, we can offer the Prince Charlie Coatee and Vest,
this is by far the most popular Highland Jacket, it is available in
various cloths and colours, ranging from wool’s, velvets, cashmere’s
and the new Charcoal Tweed.
The Prince Charlie waistcoat should always be fastened, but the
Jacket left open. It should also be worn with a bow tie.
Another suitable evening Jacket is the Regulation Doublet, it is very
similar design to the Prince Charlie, although has a gauntlet cuff and
additional tashes.
We also offer a special Pride Blue Regulation Doublet with Silver
braiding to match our Pride of Scotland Tartan, again this should be
worn with a bow tie.
For Daywear you have the option of the Argyll or Crail (the styles
vary depending on the cuff).
The Black Wool Argyll with Chrome Buttons can be worn for formal day
occasions. The Argyle can be worn with a tie or a bow tie.
The Tweed Argyll with horn buttons is traditional daywear, the tweed
would normally be worn with Hunting Tartans and be worn to less formal
occasions. The Tweed Argyll should be worn with either a plain or a
tartan tie and coloured Kilt Hose. When wearing the Argyll without a
waistcoat a Montrose Belt is required.
When wearing the Full Highland Regalia and Plaid the Jacket option
would either be the Montrose Doublet or the Sherrifmuir. Both of these
Jackets should be worn with the lace jabot shirt.
With the introduction of the Tartan Trews there is yet another range
of jackets available including the short military Mess Jacket which we
offer in plain colours and also tartan trimmed to match the Trews and
the New Modern Velvet Frock Coats.
