The following statements encapsulate McCalls jewellery terms and conditions. If purchasing highlandwear, please see our Highlandwear terms & conditions page.
Customers outwith the European Union automatically qualify for Value Added Tax (VAT) refunds. However, it is important to note that some countries may charge an import duty tax on delivery of goods. Please contact us for further details if required on sales@mccalls.co.uk. The following statements explain the two possible types of VAT applied to our products. Standard VAT (17.5%): Most of our products have the standard 17.5% vat rate applied. However, as stated above, if you are outwith the European Union this rate will not be applied. You will purchase the product excluding VAT. Margin VAT (variable rate): The margin scheme applys to pre-owned goods if purchased from a non-vat registered source. This means that the VAT applied to our pre-owned jewellery is a variable rate (always less than 17.5%) rather that the usual standard rate of 17.5%. It is a legal requirement that we obtain
the customers signature when the piece is purchased. This merely
proves that we have sold the piece at the correct rate of VAT. A
form will be despatched will the jewellery which you must simply sign and
return in the self addressed envelope provided. Please note that
margin VAT only applys to pre-owned pieces. |

| McCalls are committed to online security for our customers. Our checkout pages encrypt your credit card details using the HTTPS encryption standard (using the Secure Sockets Layer or SSL). This means that even if eavesdroppers are able to listen to the stream of data, it will be meaningless to them due to the encryption, therefore you can shop with the reassurance that your details will be totally secure. |

| All measurements supplied for ring size will be taken as correct and will be adhered to if alteration is required. We can not take responsibility for items not fitting due to incorrect measurement. It is therefore very important that care is taken during self-measurement. McCalls will however, gladly alter any product if the total delivery charges are met by the customer. |

All jewellery purchased will be dispatched within 10 working days (unless alteration is required or you have requested an insurance quotation) and sent via Recorded Delivery. Any other goods you have purchased (ie. from our highlandwear section) will be despatched separately via the courier you selected during the order process.

In line with UK legislation, where goods are faulty, McCalls will make full restitution by way of a full refund or replacement of the goods with an alternative choice. Additionally, McCalls will cover the cost of any additional postage incurred during the transaction of replacement or refund. Whilst every effort is made to depict the goods accurately with product images throughout our website, McCalls accept no responsibility for distortion of appearance due to factors such as lower quality monitors etc. In cases where inaccurate self-measurements have been taken or where customers simply change their mind, McCalls will gladly make good the inaccuracy or change the item in question, however a charge will be made to the customer to recover any additional cost incurred by us.
